There’ll Be Pain
He said there’s going to be pain
Severe and over whelming
Hard, rigid right to the bone
He said there will be pain
With a hurt unbearable
Until every sin is gone

There’ll be sadness and madness
The whole world for to see.
Purging, and woe for you and for me.
There is going to be great torment
Beyond all conceivable measure
Both on the land and in the sea.

Gnashing, screaming, pleading and begging,
And wailing, swearing, hiding, crying and
Moaning; nary a trace of a smile,
There’ll be plague, famine, and confusion;
And there will be sickness and death
And blood knee deep for a country mile

He said there will be stuff awful and ugly
Soul deep and still digging,
A final uncontestable purge
He promised gut wrenching agony
Uncensored, ever lasting until
Righteous men emerge:
There’s going to be pain.
